My Work With MYNT
The Department of Taxation (TAX} Project MYNT (MYNT and/or Project) is a project sponsored by TAX to modernize its aging Unified Tax System (UTS}, which is at its end of life (twenty years old). The Project is expected to require a three-year implementation period, with an expected life for the base implementation of eighteen years. It is predicted that the modern platform will exceed its life-cycle expectancy through upkeep, maintenance, and upgrades for as long as TAX determines necessary.
I accomplish my part of the project as a Business Analyst II, providing process analysis and providing thorough communication with the project team (PMO), technical team, and web developers to design new modules for the stakeholders.
Business Process Analysis
Provide process analysis for Project MYNT (Modernize Your Nevada Tax), a 75 million dollar, multi-year Unified Tax System modernization project for the State of Nevada Department of Taxation.
Project MYNT is the efforts to provide The Department of Taxation of Nevada a new system in which state employees can manage the taxes of the state. A Business Process Analysis consist of the identification and documentation of the AS-IS process and TO-BE process when implenting the new system.
Efforts consist of clear communication, understandable visualization, and the ability to collaborate with a variety of teams.
Project Management
Collaborate with the project management office team (PMO), technical team, and web developers to design new modules for the stakeholders.
The success of a project depends on the combined collaboration efforts of the project management team and other essential teams. Each team is given specific deadlines to complete each tasks in which moves the project forward to the next phase of the project. It is important to meet these requirements in a timely manner as well as keeping consistent communication with the teams to maximize the end results of the project.
Visualization / Clear Communication
Leverage Visio, KPIs, and Gap Analysis to document, analyze, and design new working processes eight department teams by identifying challenging areas and offering modernized improvements.
Data is useless unless it can be communicated effectively. This is where visualization and a skillset in communication comes into play.
I recognize communication comes in different forms depending on who we are communicating with, thus we must keep a constant awareness of who we are talking to, what message is being given, and how that message will be communicated.
